Community Rules

The standards we hold ourselves and our community to — in every message, every review, every shared bottle of grain culture.

Halvorne is a small, direct company. We interact with our customers, restaurant partners, farm partners, and community members personally and regularly. These rules define how we expect those interactions to proceed — for everyone involved, including ourselves.

These rules apply to all communications with Halvorne (email, contact form, social media), reviews or testimonials submitted about our products, and wholesale or trade partnerships.

We commit to telling you the truth about our products — including when a batch didn't perform to our usual standard, when a grain variety was unavailable and we substituted, or when fermentation produced an unexpected result. In return, we ask that feedback you share with us or publicly is genuine and honest. Fabricated reviews or complaints intended to extract compensation will result in termination of service.

We are a small team. Every message we receive is read by a real person. We will always respond respectfully, and we ask the same in return. Communications that are abusive, threatening, or discriminatory will not receive a response and may be reported to relevant authorities where appropriate. Respectful disagreement and criticism are always welcome — we genuinely want to improve.

You may not represent yourself as affiliated with or endorsed by Halvorne without our explicit written consent. This includes social media accounts that imply official status, re-labeling or repackaging Halvorne products, or using our name, imagery, or brand identity in commercial contexts without a current partnership agreement. If you'd like to work with us, please reach out through our official contact page.

Trade partners agree to: maintain cold-chain integrity from receipt; display products with correct refrigeration; not alter, re-label, or misrepresent our products; and not sell expired or compromised bottles. Partners who sell below minimum advertised price without prior agreement, or who make unauthorized health claims about our products, will have their wholesale agreement terminated. We inspect distribution partners periodically and without advance notice.

All purchasers confirm they are 18 or older at the point of order. Retail and trade partners are responsible for ensuring age verification at point of sale in their venues. Halvorne cannot be held responsible for distribution by third parties to minors, but we will terminate any wholesale partnership where this is discovered to have occurred without adequate controls in place.

We do not make medicinal claims about our products, and neither should our partners or community members on our behalf. Halvorne fermented beverages contain live cultures and are naturally nutritious as part of a varied diet — but they are not medicine and should not be presented as a treatment or cure for any condition. If you share about Halvorne publicly, please keep your language grounded and accurate. We're proud of what our products are; we don't need them to be more.

All Halvorne bottles are returnable for deposit credit (€0.50 per bottle). Direct customers may return bottles in any order shipment by including them in the return packaging with a note. Trade partners accumulate and return bottles on collection runs. Bottles must be rinsed and intact. We do not accept cracked or chemically contaminated bottles for reuse. The deposit scheme is a genuine sustainability commitment — please participate when you're able.

Halvorne reserves the right to cancel orders, suspend or terminate wholesale agreements, and decline future service to any individual or business that violates these Community Rules. In cases involving fraud, impersonation, or misrepresentation, we reserve the right to pursue appropriate legal remedies. We will always attempt direct communication before taking formal action. If you believe you have been incorrectly affected by an enforcement decision, please write to [email protected] with the subject line "Enforcement Review."
