Understanding Fermented Beverages

Wild fermentation — the process that makes Halvorne products — produces ethanol as a natural by-product of yeast activity. Unlike brewed beer or wine, our products are not designed to be alcoholic beverages and contain significantly lower alcohol levels. However, even trace alcohol levels are relevant for certain individuals and in certain circumstances.

We believe full disclosure is more respectful than vague "non-alcoholic" labeling. We will always tell you exactly what percentage of alcohol is in each batch — listed on the bottle and available on our website product pages.

Who Should Exercise Caution

We strongly advise that the following individuals consult a healthcare professional before consuming Halvorne products:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals — even trace alcohol is subject to specific guidance;
• Individuals with alcohol use disorder or those in recovery;
• Individuals taking medications with alcohol interactions — including metronidazole, disulfiram, and certain anticoagulants;
• Individuals with severe wheat, rye, barley, or spelt allergies or celiac disease — our products are made from gluten-containing grains;
• Children and young people under 18 years of age;
• Individuals with compromised immune systems — live-culture products may not be appropriate for some immunocompromised individuals.

Age Restriction

Halvorne products are sold exclusively to adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly sell to minors. If you are under 18, please do not place an order. We reserve the right to cancel any order where we have reasonable suspicion that the recipient is a minor.

Allergen Information

Our products contain the following known allergens:

• Gluten — all varieties contain heritage gluten-containing grains (rye, emmer wheat, barley, or spelt);
• Live yeast and bacterial cultures — present in all products as a core ingredient.

Our production facility handles only grain-based products. Cross-contamination with nuts, dairy, or other major allergens is not expected, but our facility is not certified allergen-free. If you have severe allergies, please contact us before ordering.

Storage and Handling

Halvorne beverages are living products. Please observe the following to ensure safety and quality:

• Refrigerate upon receipt and store between 2°C and 6°C;
• Consume within 21 days of opening;
• Do not leave bottles in direct sunlight or at temperatures above 18°C for extended periods;
• Natural carbonation will continue to develop in-bottle — open carefully over a sink if stored at room temperature;
• Do not give fermented beverages to pets, as even trace alcohol and live cultures can be harmful to animals.

Mindful Consumption

Halvorne is designed to be savored, not rushed. Our products are best appreciated in small quantities — as you would a fine vinegar, a living cheese, or a fermented condiment. We do not encourage excessive consumption of any product, including our own.
